Treatment for neck pain and shoulder pain

Like back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain can range from being a mild discomfort right through to issues so severe that walking and sleeping become difficult.

We understand that issues with your neck can feel worrying - which is why we always work carefully to assess your issues before gently working to restore your movement and comfort. You can rest assured knowing that we have dealt with countless neck injuries - so in the rare instance that your condition requires more specialist medical support, we'll explain what your next steps should be.

Manual therapy for sports injuries

Sport puts stresses on your body that often aren't found anywhere else in life. Maybe you've pushed for a faster time, a heavier lift, or just overstretched and felt that tell-tale pull as a muscle or joint refuses to follow.

We have the experience required to take you from out-of-action and back to your previous (or even improved) level of fitness. We can even combine specialist personal training for private gym-based rehabilitation.

Experienced Physiotherapists

Physiotherapy is all about restoring your full range of movement following any kind of illness, injury, or disability.

We take a different approach to some Central London physiotherapy services. Rather than rely solely on the manual therapy that we carry out during your sessions, we'll also make recommendations about exercise and physical activity - as well as offering on-going education and advice that will help you understand your condition and carry on your recovery outside your appointments.

Each of our Central London physiotherapy team are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health & Care Professions Council.

Accredited Osteopaths

Osteopathy focuses on detecting, treating, and preventing health issues through moving, stretching, and massaging a person's muscles and joints.

The osteopaths here at Physical Edge regularly work with a huge range of issues, including:

  • Neck pain
  • Low back pain
  • Arthritic pain
  • Elbow pain and tennis elbow
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sporting injuries
  • Postural issues relating to pregnancy

Each member of our osteopathy team is registered with both the General Osteopathic Council and The British Osteopathic Association.

Specialist massage therapists

Deep tissue and sports massage therapy are two closely-related approaches that involve manipulation of the layers of soft tissue through the body to ease chronic pain, enhance performance and mobility, aid sports injury recovery, and prevent future injuries.

Although the name might lead you to believe it's a type of therapy reserved for elite athletes, this couldn't be further from the truth. Virtually everyone can benefit from massage therapies - whether you have a highly active or sedentary lifestyle.

Our sports massage team have experience at the very highest level - having worked with Olympic athletes, professionals sports teams, and significant corporations to support occupational health.

What does a consultation at Physical Edge involve?

When you enquire with our friendly team, the first step usually involves booking a consultation at a time that's right for you. We work before, during, and after standard working hours - but if that doesn't quite fit, we have weekend appointments available too.

When you arrive, you consultation will take place in our comfortable private treatment room. We'll chat about your condition and discuss a plan that we think will take you towards being pain free.

Ordinarily, a treatment plan will involve a series of sessions - but we'll talk to you when you're here about if that's appropriate. We'll also explain how you can book these in advance - and the discounts available when you do.

We'll usually be able to start your treatment during your first session - so feel free to come in comfortable sports clothing. Don't worry if you're coming straight from work though - you're welcome to change in our private changing area.

I went to Rhys in the lead up to running the London Marathon suffering from several issues and injuries to my feet and ankle. Rhys was highly professional and very thorough, he really took the time to ask questions and identify the problem accurately and gave me clear exercises and instructions on what steps to take in order for me to be able to run the race safely.
